Having cosmetic procedures performed without the need for surgery is growing in popularity because of advances in technology that allow for minimally invasive body contouring and facial rejuvenation. Dr. Glat has been very impressed with ThermiRF™ which he offers at his plastic surgery practice in the Philadelphia area.
ThermiRF™ is a safe, effective, and versatile skin tightening method that is effective in body areas ranging from the neck to the knees. Patients who have concerns about the appearance of their necks have been particularly happy with their results. ThermiRF™ is the first FDA-approved aesthetic device for radiofrequency wrinkle reduction and skin tightening. This solution is ideal for both men and women who are troubled by small trouble areas, who do not require or aren’t prepared for plastic surgery.
ThermiRF™ represents a non-surgical technique for skin tightening. Since this technique is new, patients who are unfamiliar with it are encouraged to learn more about it from the information contained in this blog.
How does ThermiRF™ work?
ThermiRF™ utilizes radiofrequency energy to send heat below the surface of the skin, resulting in the production of collagen and elastin. The treatment does not damage the skin because it is controlled precisely by Thermal Image Monitoring, which is safe and effective for use on the skin.
Good Candidates for ThermiRF™
ThermiRF™ is effective in treating wrinkles, loose skin, cellulite, and many conditions affecting the skin. Many people turn to ThermiRF™ when they are not good candidates for, or are unprepared for, plastic surgery.
Doctors use the treatment to tighten and lift the skin. They also use it to melt fat on the face and neck, minimize cellulite in the thighs and abdomen, and reduce wrinkles and fine lines appearing around the eyelids and forehead. ThermiRF™ is effective on almost all body parts.
ThermiRF™ Benefits
- Little to no downtime
- Minimal discomfort
- Surgery is not needed
- Safe for all skin types and pigments
What is ThermiRF™ treatment like?
The first step is the administration of a local anesthetic to make the patient comfortable during their treatment in the office. When the areas to be treated are numbed, patients have virtually no discomfort. The most that can be expected is some pressure or a warm sensation at the treatment site.
A thin probe and very fine needle are injected below the skin of the treatment area to transmit the radiofrequency energy into the skin. The treatment normally lasts about one hour, depending on the number of areas to be treated. Some bruising and swelling after treatment is normal.
What results can ThermiRF™ patients expect?
ThermiRF™ is a highly effective treatment for the reducing of jowls and double chins, as well as tightening the skin of the thighs and upper arms, tummy, and love handles. The technique is incredibly versatile and, since it involves only small incisions, very little post-treatment downtime is to be expected. Most patients are able to resume their daily routines one day after their treatment.
